About
As a self-taught independent software developer for over 25 years I've worked with numerous programming languages and operating systems. From Z80 assembler on the TRS-80 Model II, to designing portable game engines in C++, to developing database-driven PHP web applications for corporate clients, I've worked on a wide range of projects in many different areas of expertise, both personally and professionally.
I enjoy learning new technologies, programming languages, and design patterns. I have a knack for tracking down and debugging problems with software and hardware using whatever tools are available -- and quite often without special utilities. I also have strong written and verbal communications skills, and enjoy authoring documentation for finished projects.
Professionally, I did web development from 2000 to 2010. Since the start of 2011, I've been doing Delphi work for a local company working on food distribution software, among other things.
My primary focus, in my off hours, has been on writing portable gaming and entertainment software for the PC. But also, since August 2009, I've started focusing on digital electronics, and in May of 2010, I added programming for the Android mobile phone platform to my interests.
